Tasting Paris in Tokyo
Tokyo has become the Mecca of gastronomic cooking following the recent awarding of "stars" by various restaurant guides which have widely recognized established restaurants in this city. The Japanese particularly appreciate French cuisine and the restaurant “Le Pré Verre” in Paris is highly estimated by Japanese visitors.
Marc and Philippe Delacourcelle have had a real affinity for Japan for several years, Philippe during his numerous journeys found inspiration in Japanese cuisine and integrated Japanese spices and ingredients into some one of his recipes.
After long months of preparation, the restaurant in Tokyo opened its doors on November 1st, 2007, right in the heart of the city in the very trendy district of Omotesando, a prestigious district which we could compare to the Champs Elysees. From the restaurant’s dining room the panoramic view is impressive and the city lights make a beautiful sight at night. The restaurant is situated on the 4th floor of the GYRE high rise, above Chanel and Bylgari... A must !
A new decoration was realized in February 2010 for the dining room, walls show big photos of Paris. [You like Paris ? A curiosity to be seen, The biggest photo of the world made with 2134 photos taken down from the church Saint-Sulpice in Paris.]
On the menu we find the same dishes as in the Parisian restaurant, the same creative cooking, sprinkled artistically with rare spices. The wine list, chosen by Marc, is the same too, "natural wines " from French vineyards, highly appreciated in Japan. All this with the same value for money.
The restaurant is open all day, from 11 am to 11 pm, 7 days a week; it has a bar where glasses of wine and dried meats and cheeses with bread are served. The Japanese team was trained in Paris and naturally, Marc and Philippe oversaw the opening of the restaurant.
We can guarantee that this new restaurant, which has already proved to be successful, will be the address not to forget in Tokyo.
